Dell is seeking to hire a manager for Latin American government
relations. The manager would develop and execute a comprehensive
government relations plan for addressing customs delays and red tape
at the borders, and various other issues in strategic markets in Latin
America. These markets include Argentia, Chile, Mexico, Colombia,
Peru, and Ecuador. Key to the success of this individual will be
his/her ability to align with Dell's LatAm business objectives. Other
responsibilities include cultivating and maintaining relationships
with key foreign government officials, U.S. embassies, and foreign
embassy staff in Washington, D.C. Finally, the candidate would
provide government relations support for Dell's call center operations
in El Salvador and Panama.
Frequent travel is required. The position is based in Washington, D.C.
This person will represent the company before high-level officials
and must possess strong communication skills, interpersonal
relationship skills, general business knowledge, and political acumen.
Ideal candidate posses 7-15 years of Latin America government
relations experience, understanding of government organizations, and
awareness of country and regional industry associations. Experience
in the technology industry, and knowledge of logistics, customs, or
international trade is highly desired. Fluency in Spanish is
required, along with project planning, strategic and tactical
execution skills. Corporate, government, trade association
experience is encouraged.
