Barbour Griffith & Rogers, rated the number one lobbying firm in Washington, DC by Fortune Magazine, is looking to hire a Policy Analyst for its international division. The International Policy Analyst supports Barbour Griffith & Rogers International's (BGRI) principals on foreign affairs and international trade issues including: foreign policy, defense policy, international trade, and emerging market business development.
Duties include: writing briefings, position papers, op-eds, and background research; monitoring government notices, Congressional hearings/proceedings and press reports relating to BGRI client interests; reviewing government regulatory and policy proposals and coordinating the review with BGRI principals; supporting BGRI client visits to Washington as appropriate; producing news articles/updates on behalf of BGRI clients; and assisting BGRI principals on client development initiatives.
Qualifications:
Three to five years experience and a Master's degree is preferred, a Bachelor's degree is required. Superior writing ability is a must. The position also requires rapid research and analytical skills, and extensive knowledge and intellectual interest in foreign affairs, national security, and international and trade policy issues. Experience in the Executive Branch or on Capitol Hill is preferred and the ability to work with tact and discretion in a fast-paced and intense office environment is required.
