Director, Capital Semester

This position is responsible for planning and implementing all aspects of the semester Institutes, fall and spring academic internship programs held in partnership with Georgetown University for undergraduate students interested in careers in government, public policy and journalism.


Job Objectives

• Operate a high quality fall and spring semester Institute that meets class size, budgetary, and educational goals of the Fund
• Ensure a high-level of student satisfaction with Institute

Principal Responsibilities

• Help to identify and pursue partnerships with colleges and universities as well as student and faculty organizations
• Work with Recruitment Manager to develop and implement annual student recruitment plan
• Serve as chief liaison with Institute applicants, students, and faculty
• Review applications for admissions and scholarship awards
• Work with faculty and staff to plan the Institute schedule and courses
• Match and place Institute students with internship sites
• Secure and confirm all guest speakers
• Plan special events and selected site briefings at government institutions
• Evaluate student feedback and make recommendations for program improvements

Qualifications

A Bachelors degree and four or more years of relevant experience are preferred. The ideal candidate will also have project-management experience, strong interpersonal and communications skills, and a commitment to ideas of limited government/free-market economy. Salary based on qualifications.
