Communications Manager

The Charles G. Koch Charitable Foundation seeks an experienced writer and communication professional to support Foundation leadership and staff and further the Foundation’s mission of advancing social prosperity through the development of free societies. The communication manager will be responsible for developing and implementing communication plans that enhance understanding of the mission, strategy and priorities of the Foundation with key audiences.

•Develop and execute an overall communication strategy for the Foundation and its programs
•Work with the President and the Chairman of the BOD to develop presentations that effectively communicate the philosophy and science that drives the Foundation’s mission
•Develop key messages on the philosophical approach and grant-making of the Foundation
•Compose announcements, articles, presentations, web site copy, high-value correspondence and other tools that convey the Foundation’s philosophy and activities
•Author columns, features or other pieces for submittal to targeted publications to create positive exposure for the Foundation and/or grantees
•Generate products to accurately convey the Foundation’s mission, values and benefits and correct the inaccuracies advanced by inadvertent and intentional misstatements.

Requirements:
•World class writing capability
•Minimum 5-10 years applicable experience
•A solid understanding of free market economics
•A passion for liberty and free markets
•The ability to convey complex thoughts in an easy-to-digest form suitable for diverse audiences
•Experience handling media strategy/communication for a company or organization
•Entrepreneurial spirit
•Bachelor’s degree (English, composition or journalism degree preferred)
