The Moving Picture Institute (MPI) is looking for a program director to develop and implement creative strategies for promoting our films. The program director will assist with various aspects of MPI’s film production programs and development initiatives; a crucial aspect of the job involves planning, organizing, and executing MPI events, which range from Capitol Hill screenings to film premieres to public screenings in major venues across the U.S. The program director will be responsible for ensuring that our events are uniformly successful: well designed, beautifully orchestrated, and immensely popular. We want as many people as possible to see our films—and we want our events to be so well attended that they always draw standing-room-only crowds.
The job requires an ability to work independently, with little direction; it also requires an ability to balance a detail-oriented, meticulous outlook with broad creative vision. The ideal candidate will be an energetic, organized, self-motivated individual with excellent speaking, writing, and technological skills. He or she will combine a demonstrable interest in film production and marketing with a strong commitment to individual rights and an informed appreciation for American liberty. Working knowledge of online networking services and viral media are a must, as is experience organizing events. Judgment, focus, empathy, an ability to work under pressure, and a sense of humor are also essential.
