To spearhead efforts to build TFAS academic programs in Central and South America. The position requires a working relationship with various constituencies, including international contacts, university administrators, university faculty, students, donors, policymakers, and members of the business community.
Job Objectives
• Develop and operate high quality comprehensive educational programs for university students in Central/South America and the Caribbean, as well as supplemental events that relate to these institutes
• Ensure that programs meet class size, budgetary, and educational goals.
• Ensure a high-level of student satisfaction with the educational programs.
Principal Responsibilities
Student Recruitment:
• Work with international programs staff, specifically the international programs assistant, in meeting recruitment goals through the existing international programs contact database, as well as expanding the database as appropriate.
Admissions:
• Review all applications and make admissions and scholarship decisions on a rolling admissions basis.
Program Administration:
• Serve as liaison with Institute faculty, guest lecturers, and host university administration.
• Plan the Institute schedule in cooperation with local university partners and Institute faculty.
• Staff Institute events.
• Secure guest speakers.
• Plan and implement selected site briefings and Institute-wide events.
Outreach:
• Fundraising: work with development staff in helping to identify and cultivate donors for the programs.
• Public Relations: work to improve visibility of the Institute with key constituencies, including the media, donors, academics and students.
Qualifications
• College degree and four or more years of professional experience, or Master’s degree and two or more years of professional experience.
• Commitment to ideas of limited government/free market economy.
• Background in economics/politics of Latin America
• Demonstrated success in program management or event planning.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks in an efficient, well-organized manner.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
