The Center for Competitive Politics’ (CCP) Director of Research is responsible conducting and arranging high quality research on CCP’s issues. The position requires strong research, writing, and analytical abilities, as well as familiarity with the political process. Key activities include conducting original research, collaborating with researchers at other organizations on joint projects, hiring and managing independent researchers, managing a peer-review process, and presenting research results to elected officials and staff, media, academics, and other key audiences.
This position reports to CCP’s President and requires close collaboration with the heads of the Legal, Government & Coalition Relations, and Communications departments. It requires an experienced, mature, self-managing individual committed to protecting, promoting and expanding the First Amendment rights of speech, assembly, and petition. A Master’s degree in economics, history, political science, public policy, government, or similar field is strongly preferred.

Recommended Background/Skills
Master’s or higher in a field connected to CCP’s areas of interest.
Excellent research, analytical, and writing skills.
Ability to understand and speak knowledgeably on the issues CCP addresses.
Ability to work well with and manage the work of others.
Starting salary negotiable and commensurate with skills and experience.
