New Media Operations Internship Announcement:

Townhall.com, a leading online source for conservative news, opinion and current events, is looking for a paid New Media Operations Intern to be part of our team for the Spring 2008 semester in our Arlington, Virginia office.
Past interns of Townhall.com have been hired at the White House, Newt Gingrich Communications, the Republican National Committee, The Heritage Foundation, the Charles G. Koch Charitable Foundation, and most recently, at Regnery Publishing. We have many past interns that have gone on to work for various Congressmen. Additionally several interns have returned to work full time at Townhall.com.
New Media Operations Intern Responsibilities:
• Daily Operations Dept. functions
• Assist in developing and improving websites across the Townhall platform
• Some editing graphics in Photoshop
• Simple HTML coding
• Updating and researching content for Townhall websites
• Testing and documentation of bugs and problems on Townhall.com websites
• Potential research and fact checking for Operations Director
• Assist Operations Manager in additional assigned duties
Knowledge/Abilities:
• General interest in New Media, Technology, and Political Internet Strategy
• Knowledge of or an interest in learning Photoshop and Dreamweaver
• Knowledge of HTML is a plus!
• Experience with building (or maintaining) a website is a plus
• Experience with blogging and/or using content management systems
• Desire to learn and develop new skills
An internship at Townhall.com is an excellent place for conservatives to gain valuable experience in New Media Operations and to get a behind-the-scenes look at the development, maintenance, and operation of a conservative political website. Aside from working side by side with top political internet strategists, at Townhall.com, interns have the opportunity be exposed to a number of other learning opportunities, due to the many conservative organizations in the Washington Metro area.
Townhall.com is located in Arlington, VA, just across the Potomac, a very short commute from Washington, D.C., and one block from the Rosslyn metro station.
NOTE: Internships are for approximately 4 months and are paid. Full-time and part-time internships are available. Full-time (preferred) is 40 hours per week and part-time is approximately 20 hours per week.
