Summer Internship

American Council of Trustees and Alumni | Posted on February 18, 2008

The American Council of Trustees and Alumni seeks high-energy students (high school seniors, college undergraduates, and graduate/law students) with excellent research and communication abilities to participate in its work as summer interns. Intern responsibilities include research, writing, clerical and administrative tasks, and some data entry. Over ACTA’s history, interns have provided critical assistance to the full-time staff, including preparing materials that have gone into nationally-syndicated news stories and materials given to trustees and alumni across the country.

Thanks to the generosity of ACTA's supporters, summer interns receive a stipend of $750 per month for full-time work. They also participate in a special series of seminars with ACTA staff and board members, as well as such experts as Dr. Bruce Cole, chairman of the National Endowment for the Humanities; Dr. Frederick M. Hess, director of education-policy studies at the American Enterprise Institute; Ross Douthat, senior editor of The Atlantic; and Dr. Richard K. Vedder, distinguished professor of economics at Ohio University.

Applicants for summer internships should a resumé, cover letter, transcript, and two written letters of reference by April 1, 2008. Incomplete applications will not be considered. Placement decisions are made on a rolling basis. All applications should be sent to:
