The Development Assistant will work within a fast-moving strategic development team in executing two major philanthropic gatherings a year and several smaller gatherings for an elite network of high-level individuals. Role also includes executing and helping to continuously improve communication strategies with donor network. Successful candidate will be detail-oriented, entrepreneurial, and able to shift seamlessly between various tasks during the course of the day.
• Assist Development team with logistics and communications for two major annual seminars on philanthropy
• Help develop and implement a strategy for smaller regional meetings, including identifying candidates, tracking responses, and making proper arrangements
• Implement and continuously improve a regular, year-round communication strategy with our network of participants that advances fundraising, recruitment, and informational goals
• Assist in the on-site management of events, including pre-event planning, event set-up and break-down, and interacting with high-level guests and speakers
• Assist in other development/fundraising projects as they occur to advance a multi-million dollar fundraising effort
Requirements:
• Past experience working in a professional office environment (minimum one year)
• Computer proficiency, including MS Office (particularly Excel), Outlook, Internet researching tools, and some database experience
• Solid understanding of and commitment to classical liberal ideals, market principles, and the advancement of liberty
• Ability to exhibit entrepreneurial behavior and a self-starter attitude
• Demonstrated high degree of discretion and confidentiality
• Ability to prioritize; excellent organizational skills
• Exceptional interpersonal skills
Experience Preferred:
• Two+ years of experience
• Past experience with major event planning, such as with a political campaign, company, or non-profit organization
Education Required:
Bachelor's Degree
Attendance at events outside of normal working hours/days may be required.
