Girl Scouts provides in-depth training in Girl Scout programs, skills for working with youth, and ways of involving the girls in planning their own activities. To strengthen program capacity, the merger of Girl Scouts Totem Council and Girl Scouts Pacific Peaks Council was implemented in October 2007, creating a higher capacity operation as Girl Scouts of Western Washington (GSWW). He/she will also work collaboratively with client departments to identify market/customer needs, advise program staff on aspects that can make programs more marketable, function as an internal service group for other GSWW departments, and develop a marketing plan that will position GSWW as a leader in the field of girls’ leadership development.

Experience with a merged organization, as well as demonstrated management skills, will be important as she/he will help unite the newly merged Councils to be a successful, nationally recognized organization. The successful candidate will be a strategic and creative thinker who demonstrates confidence and clear vision in generating new ideas and building on already established fund development and marketing programs. The ideal candidate will have experience in leveraging public relations and marketing to support fund development goals. Communication, team-building, community-involvement, energy, self-motivated.

A Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent combination of education and work experience, is required with a minimum five years progressively responsible experience in fund development and/or marketing, and two years managing and leading a multi-faceted fund development operation.
