Company description: A nonprofit, the Collegiate Network sponsors and mentors 108 conservative and libertarian newspapers on 99 college campuses. Each year the CN places its best students in summer internships and year-long fellowships at media venues ranging from USA Today and the New York Post to The Weekly Standard and National Review. The CN is administered by the Intercollegiate Studies Institute.
Job description: We are seeking a professional development director who will assist the Executive Director in running the CN's rapidly expanding journalism internship and fellowship program. Responsibilities include:
(1) promoting the CN's internships/fellowships and recruiting talent
(2) directing the application process
(3) assisting the Executive Director in finding new media placement venues
(4) maintaining contact with current interns, fellows, and their host publications
(5) directing the CN's professional development seminars
(6) maintaining contact with CN alumni
The job also requires attendance at the CN's Geostrategic Journalism Course in Prague every summer. There will be periods of frequent travel to college campuses and newsrooms around the nation.
Successful candidate would need to relocate to the Wilmington, Del./Brandywine Valley/Philadelphia suburb & exurb region.
