Who we are:
The Center for Education Reform (CER) is the nation’s premier education reform group that creates opportunities for and challenges obstacles to better education for America's communities. CER advocates reforms that produce high standards, accountability and freedom, such as strong charter school laws, school choice programs for children most in need, common sense teacher initiatives, and proven instructional programs.
CER is looking for Summer interns who want to gain knowledge about education policy and translate these ideas into action to create better opportunities in education. As an intern, you will have the chance to be an intricate part of CER’s day-to-day work in all aspects of education policy, from research to advocacy to legislative affairs.
Intern responsibilities:
Responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:
--Research current education issues, analyze reports and submit briefings to CER staff
--Assist in tracking federal and state legislative activity
--Support outreach efforts to members
--Maintain membership information for charter schools
--Communicate and assist parents with educational needs
--Support CER staff generally
Interns will receive a bi-weekly stipend of $300 for working 30-40 hours per week.
