The Las Vegas-based Nevada Policy Research Institute (NPRI) is a free-market and limited-government policy research organization which currently seeks a detail-oriented and experienced Fiscal Policy Analyst.
The Fiscal Policy Analyst will be responsible for researching and writing policy reports and commentaries on tax, budgetary and economic issues facing the state of Nevada. The Fiscal Policy Analyst will also be responsible for coordinating research on wasteful government spending. The Fiscal Policy Analyst may also be required to give presentations to small crowds and conduct interviews with the media. Some travel will be required.
Qualified candidates will have a strong attention to detail, knowledge of state budgetary and financial procedures, a firm intellectual grasp of free-market economics, strong written and verbal communication skills, and experience with qualitative and quantitative research methods. Degrees in finance, public administration, economics or related areas are preferred, with a strong preference toward candidates with relevant work experience.
