The Philanthropy Roundtable’s Annual Meeting Director, reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, has the primary responsibility to oversee the planning and conducting of the Annual Meeting, the largest and longest-running event the Roundtable provides for its members and other philanthropists.
Work includes but is not limited to planning meals, guest room, and meeting space logistics with hotels and other event locations; planning the schedule for sessions and meals in consultation with Philanthropy Roundtable staff; coordinating speaker and entertainment invitations and logistics; working with vendors to prepare and distribute marketing pieces and other materials; managing registrations; preparing event literature; and managing Roundtable staff and other event staff at the Annual Meeting. Work may also include some fundraising assignments for support of Annual Meeting sponsorships.
The person serving as the Annual Meeting Director will ideally have at least three years of experience in major meeting planning. The position requires completing assignments with precision and great attention to detail, having excellent people skills, managing multiple tasks at once, performing well under pressure and deadlines, managing and staying within program budgets, and working with the highest standards of integrity. The position also requires some U.S. travel.
The Philanthropy Roundtable’s mission is to foster excellence in philanthropy, to protect philanthropic freedom, to help donors achieve their philanthropic intent, and to help donors advance liberty, opportunity, and personal responsibility in America and abroad.
The Roundtable currently assists more than 550 associates, including foundations, generous families, donor advisors, and corporate giving programs. We have a total staff of 18 and an annual budget of approximately $5 million.
