Iran roundtable in two weeks...
On Wednesday, November 15th, America's Future Foundation will host the roundtable "Iran: Clear Problem, Unclear Solution." Iran has announced it has now doubled its nuclear enrichment capacity. We face an impending crisis -- but how much time is left to debate our response in advance? The goal is to prevent a nuclear-armed Iran foursquare against American interests. But is the US ultimately alone in that judgment? What costs are we prepared to bear to defend our interests, and how far in advance? What responsibilities do we have now to head off an intractable crisis later?

Joining us to discuss these issues are Nick Gvosdev, editor of The National Interest, Ken Timmerman, author of "Countdown to Crisis: the Coming Nuclear Showdown in Iran," Justin Logan of the Cato Institute, and Omeed Jafari of the American Enterprise Institute. James G. Poulos will moderate.

The event will take place at the Fund for American Studies, 1706 New Hampshire Avenue, NW, near Dupont Circle. Drinks at 6:30; Roundtable begins at 7:00. Roundtables are free for members, $5 for non-members. So join today! Please RSVP to Kathleen O'Hearn at kathleen@americasfuture.org.

Before the election, hope...
In our online magazine this week, David Freddoso writes that this election has ignored almost all ideology and become a narrative about issues of scandal and incompetence. The only thing left to do, he says, is hope a more conservative GOP will emerge from the ashes.

Your dream job...
The Philanthropy Roundtable is seeking a part-time intern to support its K-12 education programs. This is an excellent opportunity for a local undergraduate who wants to learn more about K-12 reform and get paid a good stipend (interns receive a stipend of $1000 per month).
