Neoprohibition roundtable next month...
D.C. bans smoking, Chicago outlaws foie gras, and New York is thinking of forbidding transfats. Is this the return of prohibition? What ever happened to consumer freedom? This is what we'll be discussing at AFF's next roundtable on Wednesday, December 13. Joining us to discuss these issues are Justin Wilson of the Center for Consumer Freedom and Joe Lindsley of The Weekly Standard. Stay tuned for more panelists.
The event will take place at the Fund for American Studies, 1706 New Hampshire Avenue, NW, near Dupont Circle. Drinks at 6:30; Roundtable begins at 7:00. Roundtables are free for members, $5 for non-members. So join today! Please RSVP to Kathleen O'Hearn at kathleen@americasfuture.org.
Britney and Mumble...
In our online magazine this week, Jason Fodeman writes that there's something fishy about the new animated penguin feature Happy Feet. Meanwhile, Meghan Keane opines that the current rash of celebrity crotch shots is yet more evidence of how what was once private has become public.
