This Friday, Derek Hunter and the First Friday gang will be celebrating one year of monthly GOP schmoozing and boozing at the Union Pub with a special guest, House Republican Leader John Boehner, and a special location, Lounge 201. Festivities start at 5:30 and go ‘til 9 p.m. and, as always, there are liquor and beer specials.

Says Hunter:

You can’t really complain about anything this month, nice venue, big name guest, drink specials and, as an added bonus, our co-hosts this month will be the DC Young Republicans and they’re handing out free t-shirts to everyone who walks in the door (while supplies last and as long as you’re not a jerk). The shirts say some such or other thing on them, I’m not going to ruin the surprise (and frankly, I forget, I’ve got other things on my mind) but they’re free, so who cares! Just show up, have a few drinks and get a free shirt.

There you have it, folks. From the mouth (or, rather, typing fingers) of Mr. First Friday himself — even if you could care less about John Boehner, there are, uh, free t-shirts involved!
